the feelings there. wandering the streets in a bitter notion that somehow you could have done something to strike the beat of this rhythm. your feet make no sound as if they had completely vanished and it makes its way up your body like a disease, transparent like a disease. the sounds they make cannot not escape the depths of your throat. now you somehow wish you hadn't taken it for granted. you wish you had been a little more timid. it's too little and it's too late to figure out what could've, what should've, what would've. there goes everything that was built up inside your head. the uselessness it served you has gone down the pipes, deep into the sewage systems of the streets where the rats begin to feed. you begin to feel the same, the way the rats rip your thoughts apart, the way they rip you apart. you've become so attached that its too late to let go. the songs may numb your ears, the rings numb your fingers, the glasses numb your eyes, but you can taste the departure on your tongue. you can smell it's rancid perfume from a distance
